CBT would be one answer actually -- learning to cope with what (I have annoying ruminations and thoughts that are antithetical [not part of] my personality, especially when I excercise -- its just part of my OCD) is a lifetime illness, namely OCD. OCD can be overcome, learned to conquer, but it is always with you, save for cingulotomy surgery which could leave you brain deficient.

Sometimes antipsychotics are added ajunctively with SSRIs to improve chances of success in severe OCD cases. Today, that would be small doses of things like Zyprexa or Seroquel. Orap (pimozide), an older antipsychotic, has been an older line treatment for "tics" (Tourette's and other parts of the OC Spectrum complex.)

As for the aforementioned, Strattera would be least anxiety provoking probably to your system than any other stimulant which just might bring it roaring to the forefront.

I assume you've been through the gamut of SSRIs -- Luvox had helped for such things more than any other SSRI I had tried in the past. But it really has to be dosed up beyond its normal dose to like 400 or 450. Of course this depends on the person, Luvox has a wide range of dosing.

But I just realized that you had noted you were talking Nardil so I see why the SSRI category would be contraindicated. Have you thought about other drugs other than MAOIs for social anxiety or did you go through medications short of them for it, because they're sort of the last stage one would pick. I will just assume you have.

I can't say that Anafranil, which is an SRI, would cause a hypertensive crisis or not -- that would then be your only non SSRI drug which had been for a long time a gold standard for OCD.

Other than that, GABA-nergic drugs I guess would be your only bet other than antipsychotic adjunctive to your therapy -- though you are already on Klonopin -- there is the range of AEDs though I dont know of any particularly good for OCD. Neurontin is fairly harmless I guess.

Hope that helps
