Hi Mr. B,

Meprobamate is a sedative. In general, it is probably more effective for insomnia than it is for anxiety. The usual dose for anxiety is 400mg three or four times a day. A single 400mg dose in the evening can be used to treat insomnia. You could always try taking 200mg doses if 400mg doses cause too much drowsiness. Still, a benzodiazepine would probably be more effective.

>I must say that last night i did have some anti anxiety-effect, but it's a strange feeling, not what i would have expected from a such medicine.

Why was it strange?

What sort of anxiety do you suffer from? Do you have other problems too eg. depression?

Regards

Ed
