Hi C

Pregabalin (Lyrica) and gabapentin (Neurontin) appear to have the same mechanism of action. Both drugs bind to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system.

Pregabalin is new and expensive. In the UK, gabapentin is available as a generic - the price is falling :)
