Lexapro was very effective for my social phobia. And not because I was suddenly more confident or anything - I simply stopped caring about other people. I also stopped socializing, because it didn't matter to me. So far all the reuptake inhibitors I've been on ('cept Wellbutrin) have done a good job making me complacent in my withdrawn states. :(
