It basically seems that mice who have less of an enzyme called PKC-epsilon are more sensitive to their bodies own calming gabaergic neurotransmitters like allopregnanalone.
This article was suggesting this as a possible way to treat anxiety disorders by using drugs that reduce PKC-e activity. Depakote appears to have this property (among others)
