hi! low-dose (10mgs of abilify or less) abilify was helpful for me, at least for a little while. Do you have schizophrenia or other forms of psychosis? Because if you don't (like, if you're taking Abilify for bipolar or depression), you might be able to go with less than 10mgs/day. Also...experiences vary, but a lot of people take Abilify in the AM since it tends be somewhat "activating". Other people do experience drowsiness, so for them the PM dosing is better. And..the first 2+/- weeks on Abilify it seems like a lot of people get akathisia, or an akathisia-like syndrome (inner restlesness, sometimes fidgetiness). Apparently this goes away for a lot of people. If its problematic for you, you can try add-on meds (propranolol, benzos, that kind of thing) for a while and then taper off to see if its gone away. Another option would be lowering the dose (down to say, 2-5mgs) and then slowly moving up to an "effective dose" (for psychosis, that would be 10-15mgs minimum for most people).

Sorry about your Risperdal experiences. Risperdal seems pretty rough, especially for an "atypical"...I think it should be re-classified as "somewhat atypical," along with older drugs like Moban and Loxitane.

Good luck!
