I used to think the same about the effect hitting right away. A theory I have is that some people, especially fast metabolizers, are experiencing the paradox because of an abrupt drop of the med in their system. Another theory is that the med sets up a sort of threshold that eventually is breached by anxiety, which like water will eventually find it's way through anything?

Just some thoughts of mine on the subject, based on lots of benzo experience.

> Some say you can get a paradoxical effect to valium after taking this med for years. I always thought a paradoxical effect happened right away. When one med effects a person in the opposite way that it's supposed to could valium do this. I remember a poster from the Uk that said this happened to her but right away not after a while. Is it possible. I know a lot of people have paradoxical effects to meds. Any answers Fondly, Phillipa ps my valium I don't seem to need as much. Maybe the luvox with it?
