Hi Tom,
I've read that lofepramine is extensively metabolized to desipramine in the liver. I haven't studied it enough to know if it can be safely combined with a MAOI. There are effects of the medication other than from the metabolite desipramine. I have combined nortriptyline at 100mg with Nardil at 75mg. Nortriptyline is the major metabolite of amitriptyline. IMHO any of these combinations can be potentially dangerous and should only be administered by an expert in psychopharmacology.
