born with super-high med tolerance?

Posted by becksA on December 18, 2005, at 13:26:43

Is this possible? I've told my pdoc stories that have completely shocked him....really things that are not safe...examples:

Very high dose of Effexor for about 4 months, stopping cold turkey. Not one noticeable side effect.

12mg daily Xanax XR for about 6 months. Was able to completely stop that within about 7-10 days.

No SSRI's have ever done a single thing for me, good or bad, maybe because I just need a much higher dose than the norm?

Currently I'm with a new pdoc who I really like, we're using depakote and serax to attack social anxiety and mild mood swings. Anyway, about all that ridiculous med tolerance, is this common? I feel like a piece of my brain is missing, I hear all these horrible withdrawal stories none of which I have ever experienced.

thanks
