Hi Phillipa,

Trileptal may not be sedating for everyone because of its potentially pro-dopaminergic effects:

Are you taking it specfically for sleep? I seem to remember that you're actually taking it due to suspected BPII. You may want to consider taking your doses earlier in the day and seeing if that helps.

It's hard to go through the process of adjusting to a new med, as you know based on my current experience with Lexapro. I hope that this smooths out for you.
