The only thing that would bother me about Vicodin is the paracetamol in it. (Assuming it has it.) Much more of a problem than the hydrocodone.

The only reason hydrocodone has slipped through the regulatory cracks is the similarity of the name to codeine.

There aren't any nonopiate substitutes for opiates, I'm afraid.
