But many doctors will use clonazepam as an augmentation to SSRIs, tricyclics, and MAOIs. Here is an abstract of a Japanese study which suggests the benefits of augmentation with clonazepam in unipolar long-term depression.

Clonazepam Pharmaconetics:

3-hydroxy benzodiazepine:
BZD agonist
5-HT increase

Notice the 5-ht (Seratonin) release!!

I took Clonazepam for near 2 years 1-6mgs daily and like MANY others found it some what stimulating, BUT depressing (Very common).

Am on Diazepam 15-20mgs now and find it far less so, althought Ritalin and occasiuonal Alcohol may cloud the picture.

MANY DO FIND CLONAZEPAM CAUSES DEPRESSED MOOD AFTER A WHILE.-althought VERY effective for panic.

Cheers
