Thanks Mike for the concern. It is funny you mention that I might be getting high off Adderall, because I do feel a distinct feeling of euphoria right at the very beginning when it starts to work in the morning. i asked my pdoc about this, and she said that since I am taking only 15mg per day in the XR formula, it shouldn't be that way for long, and that often patients do feel extra happy at the beginning and that it mellows as the tolerance starts to build. I don't have any experience with Adderall beyond the couple days I have used it, so I welcome any and all input you and the other readers might have.
About the Wellbutrin, I understand that Wellbutrin is a dopamine reuptake inhibitor as well as an agonist, so it activates dopamine receptors AND prevents reuptake of dopamine at the synapse...So it does do some similar things like Adderall, which is a dopamine agonist (not a reuptake inhibitor). My pdoc says it is not contraindicated to take both at the same time, since I am on a low dose of Adderall AND a low dose of Wellbutrin (15mg adderall xr/ 100mg of Wellbutrin/20mg Lexapro) .
Also, I lean toward the paranoid side, and so I havent' taken the Well-B for the past two days just to be safe...
**So, if you think it isn't supposed to make me euphoric at all (even for a few mins. at the very onset), do you think I should switch to another drug (like Strattera, which doesn't have amphetamines, but rather reuptake inhibitors, and no abuse potential?)...
