Hi. I'm back home! The hurricane made a northward turn at the last minute and went ashore about 50 miles east of us so we were fine. It's better to be on the west side of it - the worst winds are always inthe northeast of the storm.
We returned to our house last night. Now I get to spend the next day or so taking everything off the shelves and putting it back where it goes (last year when Ivan came our house flooded). We only went to Gulf Shores to the State Park to wait it out and only took important stuff. We were very fortunate. I don't think the damage in Navarre Beach and Pensacola was nearly as bad as from Ivan. We just got moved back into our house from that in May. That one was a direct hit.
Anyway, thanks for your good wishes and thoughts. I'm so grateful to be sleeping in my own bed tonight with my house and my cats safe around me. (Moving five cats was NOT fun).
