Denise you have quite a few options to augment your Maoi with,but i really REALLY recomend DO NOT mess around with ssris and Maois!!!!PLEASE.
Maybe if you tell us what your getting from the Maoi,and what the problem is,i.e is it not lifting your depression,is it causing fatique,is it not helping anxiety etc etc,then we can recomend something.
There are quite a bit of nardil and maoi users here,so you have a good resource,i dont think any of them including myself would suggest an Maoi with an ssri.If you havent started it yet,id say lol try it first before augmenting it!
The washout period is i believe 4-6 weeks but someone else might know for sure.Unfortunaly the washout period is a little more neccsassry when going from an ssri to an maoi rather than vice versa.
Also there are meds,that even when you begin nardil you can take with it that can ease you through the wait period,(thanks chairman) one for example i was told about is carbbgoline.I believe you can also use CERTAIN tcas at the start,as well as certain stimulants such as modfanil has been used,as well as dexadrine.Just keep in touch with the group here step by step,however again i personaly would not in anyway use an ssri with an Maoi.
Oh and mood stablizers such as neurontion also have gone ok with nardil,so you will have safer much safer options.Good luck to you,and all who are just taking maois for the first time.
