Hi Ben,I was on Effexor for years before it pooped out. I responded well to it at first. I switched from Effexor to Cymbalta by decreasing Effexor gradually while starting Cymbalta at 30mg/day. For me personally, Cymbalta didn't do it. It was similar to Effexor but didn't help with anxiety at all like the Effexor did. One thing great about it for me, though, was that it completely took away my long term insomnia.
