I had pretty tough withdrawal from Effexor but then my doctor told me that taking a small dose of Prozac would help the Effexor to leave my system more slowly. It worked great. I took 20mg once and then another 20mg a few days later when I felt the brain shiver thing again and then that was it. Done. No more withdrawal.

I agree that the potential for Effexor to produce a withdrawal syndrome should not dissuade people from using such an effective drug. If one is educated how to go about discontinuing Effexor (or any other SRI antideperssant), it no longer becomes such a potent issue.

I have read studies suggesting that taking 1200mg of calcium a day can significantly relieve the mood symptoms of PMS. I don't know if it would be helpful for PMDD, though.
