I've found low dose Risperdal, as needed, worked for my meltdowns.

The trick is that it takes a couple of hours for its tranquilizing effects to take hold, and in that time I need to hold on tight and not act on any impulses.

I imagine Zyprexa might be the same.

Antipsychotics used to be known as major tranquilizers or sedatives or something, and I thinkt that's very apt.

I also found low dose Depakote helped with mood stability, but higher doses (for migraines) are making me feel too thick.
