Should I ask sleep doc for Xyrem?

Posted by jerrympls on May 20, 2005, at 1:54:21

I see my sleep doc for the second time tomorrow to - hopefully - find a sleep med to get me back on track. I'm nervous he's going to throw his hands up and say "You've been on everything...there's nothing else to do." Don't some sleep docs prescribe Xyrem for sleep disorders?? Or am I mistaken? Should I ask him to put me on a barbituate? UGH! I just know he's going to say there's nothing else to try - and I HATE HATE HATE it when doctors- especially specialty docs throw up there hands. I KNOW there's got to be some secret tricks that sleep docs can pull out for hard to treat cases - right?????

Please someone respond - I have to see him in the morning - around 8:30am. I'll check my email for posts...I hope someone out there has been to a sleep doc and/or knows about Xyrem (sp?). Should I even ask about it??

Help!
Thanks!!
Jerry
