Hi,What is your current "mix". I found Trileptal to be comparable but slightly less effective than Depakote. I need to augment these drugs with an ssri for maximum effectiveness balancing depression and mood swings. I am a firm believer in 2 out of the original "Big 3" AED's for controlling mania. The minus being Dilantin. It effects too many neurotransmitters and causes definite excitability, confusion and anxiety which usually runs parallel with BP. Good Luck
