Just a thought: It's always good to remain open-minded about whatever your doc prescribes. It sounds like anticonvulsants may not be for you, but don't be concerned if your doc prescribes something off-label. My doc was dead-on with what she prescribed for my case and I am not on lithium - never have been. And, fyi, lithium is just as bad and worse then Depakote on average for weight gain. Although obviously, everyone reacts differently to different things. Just be very forthcoming with your doc. He/she may be looking for certain symptoms to help identify which drug/drugs are right for you. Also a thought: is the lamictal doing anything for you? If it isn't, you either should be on something else all-together or you need a different dose. Definitely discuss this with your doc.
