I have heard some very skeptical comments on Amen's work but who knows - maybe he sees things that other doctors aren't yet ready to see. I believe that patioents at his clinic do not actually get Amen himself looking at the scans but rather his acolytes.I agree that prior addiction shouldn't disqualify one from therapeutic use of stimulants. I remember in college causing consternation amongst some friends whne after trying some amphetamine I went straight hiome to work on an essay as my friends continued to party. For some people with ADHD "recreational drug use" is really a crude attempt at self-mediciation.

AMEN who is a scientific researcher and neuroscientist who does Brain Scans and can actually View ADD, I believe it shows colors in areas of the brain lacking certain chemicals or such, but its amazing , I would like to have this done.
