Hi everyone. This is my first post here. I have a problem. I went to a party at the beginning of March and someone gave me something... NOT GOOD! After that incident, my lungs felt very expanded and i always got a weird chemical taste in my mouth. I was also very "cloudy thinking" (it was hard to read clearly) and i was always drowsy. I slept ok.
As time went on, about four weeks, the chemical taste in my mouth faded and my lungs felt "normal" again. But after this happened I was not able to sleep! I also get a weird tingly feeling in my hands and legs and sometimes across my body.So clearly some form of drug withdrawl is leading me to not sleep.
As this was happening I started taking geodon to get to sleep. I started with 10mg for about four days, then had to move up to 20mg for a week. Now it takes 40 mg of geodon to get maybe 6 hours of sleep a night.
So i guess what is happening is as that unknown chemical/drug is leaving my body I am needing more geodon to sleep...
Anyways, one night i took Risperdal (the previous night i had taken 20 mg of geodon) and the risperdal made my heart race violently so i was rushed to the hospital. It was very scary situation. After that night I went back on geodon, and it has given me some sleep.
My P.Doc is the one who prescribed the geodon, he was telling me about seroquel, so i can get that if i want it.
I have taken geodon before ( I was on it for three months last year) and I was able to succesffully ween off of it, so i feel comfortable taking geodon.
But my normal doc told me about Lunesta...
Is it ok to take geodon one night, then take Lunesta the next night ? Also how effective will 3 mg of Lunesta be ? As i understand it Lunesta is for people with insomnia, I CAN'T SLEEP AT ALL without meds, so i'm not really your basic insomniac. So will Lunesta be enough to get me to sleep ? and is it safe to take Lunesta a night after i had taken 40 mg geodon the previous night. ?My situation is scary because i don't know what drug i was given and i don't know how much of it i was given, i just know it was in my system for four weeks... And it seems to be taking higher and higher doses of geodon to put me to sleep.
I can't wait for it to level of and decrease...
Then i will feel more in control and hopefully eventually ween of my geodon and be med free.But i was thinking of taking Lunesta instead of geodon, i also need to know if it is easy to stop taking Lunesta ? Do i need to ween off of lunesta or can i just stop taking it at anytime ?
