Otherwise, I'd have to second Ed with the long acting anxiolytic. You know me -- ninety percent of what I know about meds is based on what my vets have told me, but I know there are a couple of meds that are commonly used after surgery -- reserpine is the only name I can come up with off the top of my head -- but they are usually given in monthly injections, so when they say "long acting" they apparently mean just that...
