brain pacemaker implant cures depression

Very preliminary study, but as reported yesterday in Neuron, a two-probe implanted device completely eliminated depression in some completely treatment-resistant subjects. The electrodes were placed bilaterally in the subgenual cingulate, and electronically interfered with overstimulation of this limbic structure.
