I've been on Effexor for over a year, and am not a big drinker, but I have a couple of drinks a week on average and sometimes get VERY drunk, and it doesn't seem to have had any effect. Most of the information I have read says that they haven't done any research into alcohol/effexor combination, so they advise against it.
