if effexor is working for you without many side effects i would recommend you continue taking it, with the awareness it is not as benign as they would have you think.
i considered stopping because i was having too many unwanted side effects. only when i tried to stop did i realize the withdrawl, which brought me here. drugs not working for me is the story of my life- had effexor not been so difficult for me to tolerate(i tried taking it for 8mos.) i think the trade off of side effects would've been worth it. there is no withdrawl if you take it, i have no idea of longterm though...it did keep me from killing myself.
i love welbutrin! i've been taking it for 6 yrs. now. no side effects once you get used to it! kind of like a cup of coffee that lasts all day. it works on dopamine, reward center, i think it's a good augmentation drug for any ssri, tricyc, or nari, although i am NOT a dr. if you are impotent from the drugs you are taking, WB will not bring your sex life back (i hear of dr.s trying to cure that side effect with WB) but if you have no problems in that area it will increase your libido (my libido). go figure, an AD with stimulant properties, of course you'll dance better in the bed!
