effexor has been less than good for me so this mixture for me has not been the best. but I know the docs and some other experts found this mix to be very exciting, ON PAPER, I have to admit though you are covering alot of bases there...seratonin, noradreneline, and dopamine. It really sounds good, that's why I tryed it- I don't tolerate the effexor very well, so I plan to kick it soon after 8mos. But welbutrin has been very good for me, 6yrs now, and it stiil reminds me of a cup of coffee and I like coffee! All side effects should dissapate in 3-8 weeks and then when you find a level, 300mg.XR is good for me and I occassionally double it if I need a quick lift. welbutrin is the dopamine one, reward center/ pathway in the brain. If you smoke cigs you will be able to quit in about three weeks- if you are into conrolled substances or street drugs you will have a much easier time staying off of them if you wish to- compulsiveness is easier to control- you might lose some weight too if that suits you. It doesn't stop these behaviors or activities, it just gives you more guts to do it and some 'uncontrolable' behaviors or obsessions you might find controlable. Now you are just feeling side effects, it takes 3-4 wks. to see benefeit, and 6-8 weeks for full benefeit. Side effects should stop by then or you may need to adjust your dose. Be patient, no sexual side effects either is a big plus on an AD. It is a lite stimulant so you are right to feel a little tense, not manic though- if you find yourself getting manic call your doc and ask to discontinue, some bi-polars can't take this drug, and I have had bad reactions taking straterra with this drug , mania.
