I went off of Effexor by doing what you're asking about. The Effexor also came in enteric coated "pellets". In order to decrease slowly I would open the capsules, estimate the amount I wanted to take and pour the pellets slowly into a plate or bowl (be very careful because they do splatter easily). Then I would just lick up the pellets and down it with some water or other liquid. It worked out very well. Combining it with food, as the others have described, would work also. My Effexor withdrawal was very smooth because I did it slowly. At the very end, when I went off of the stuff completely, I had a couple of bad days (which went away as soon as I introduced a small amount of a longer acting serotonergic.) That worked like a charm.Good luck,
