Mood stabilizer + TCA?

Is there a reason people dont combine mood stabilizers with TCAs or is that just an artifact of less people taking TCAs in the first place?

I am moving on from Cymbalta, no luck there, am geared to start a mood stabilizer.
Lamictal or Zonegran. Plus a TCA (clomipramine most likely). Plus a stimulant?
Why are so litte people on Zonegran? Is that simply because it is newer?
