He may have bipolar disorder or perhaps just depression/anger disorder.

Pot is not something you want to use on a daily basis. Smoke form pot, because of its density and propensity to linger, is more likely to cause lung caner etc, than cigarette smoke.

If your husband has periods of depression then he may be bipolar, if it is just an anger problem, then he might respond well to an anticonvulsant or some lithium.

Pot can be a strong mood stabalizer, so in reality if he was to seek treatment, he would need
to abstain for a month and see what happens to his mood at this point.
