Very few medications lose their potency over time. They have expirations dates on them, but the dates are for the most part bogus. The exceptions are meds with live bacteria, those that need refrigeration and those that have been exposed to strong light, heat, water or other situation that could activate them chemically or otherwise damage them. Under ordinary storage conditions, the majority of meds remain good for decades, if not millennia.
