is cymbalta molecularly different from effexor?

Posted by Mike634 on October 4, 2004, at 17:22:51

Thats basically my question, if anyone can help-
Effexor has always done something for me- but I have been on cymbalta for a week now and have no response (but no mania-which is good) -absolutely none.
I know that effexor and cymbalta are both Nor and ser. reuptake inhibitors, but I have heard that they are actually very different in terms of their chemical structure. Prozac, paxil, zoloft ect.. are ssri's but people react differently to those as well so I basically figure this could be the case. Thanks---
