Is any one else out there on a really low dose or has anyone been on a low dose and successfully quit it after some time? I am hoping that since it I am not on too much my withdrawal won't be as bad, but I don't know if that is really how it works. I am on it as a mood stabilizer, as I don't have severe depression, just irritable and moody with seemingly random crying spells.

Hi ants,

Do you have any kind of bipolar disorder? Effexor isn't a mood stabilizer, if you are bipolar it would probably push you into mania faster than any SSRI. I also think Effexor is probably better suited to people who are suicidaly depressed & I would recommend that you try a good SSRI or TCA first.

Cheers,
Paul.
