I have anxious/agitated/atypical depression symptoms as well.

I did not suffer from chest tension/shortness of breath, but effexor did cause me some agitation, even at the low dose of 37.5mg.

At the equally low dose of 30 mg of cymbalta, there has been almost nil agitation comparably. Of course, I can't speak to higher dosage levels, but it seems that most of the other posters have reported that cymbalta is "cleaner" and is less likely to cause the agitation side effect.

As for anxiety and mood, cymbalta has also been an improvement on both.
