I must be one of the lucky ones. After Prozac pooped out after 7 years of excellent relief from unipolar depression and a brief trial with Nardil, I switched to Lexapro. I started at 10mg the first week. Then upped to 20 the next 2 weeks and upped to 30mg where I am currently. It took 45 days for Lexapro to kick in, but when it kicked in I was as depression free as I was when I first took Prozac. The first few weeks on Lexapro was the worse part for me. At first, all I wanted to do was sleep because I felt very fatigued. However on weeks 2-3, I was unable to sleep. My pdoc rxed Ambien and then Seroquel, which I am still taking. As far as the bumps are concerned, one will always run into bumps, even when one's AD is effective. It is how you react to the bumps that determine if the AD is effective enough or not. If one can't get past the bump in a day or two, then perhaps an increase in AD dose is necessary. I am only speaking from my experience. Good luck to you. I am male.
