Amphetamines update/L-Glutamine

Posted by MindReseacher on September 8, 2004, at 3:08:51

Hi, about 10 days ago, i posted a bunch of info and questions on adderall, and amphetamines. I basically was getting ready to take an amphetamine holiday.
Well, let me tell you. I needed it. BUT, for 7 days, i was like a zombie, i could not function right, semi dysphoric, no motivation, sleeping all day, lack of interest in most everything. I wouldnt even answer my phone!.
To be brief, i was taking 60-90 mg of adderall, which is a high dose. I had a few days worth of Ritalin which did help, but i still noticed a difference. Then, i went to just plain ol caffiene, which did absolutely nothing, and I even took a few Ephedrine tablets , which did nothing but make my heart pound, gave me a little energy, but not mental, thats for sure.
So today, I got my refill, took my dose, and within 2 hrs, i felt 80 percent better, ( I could say 100 percent, but then i may be borderline saying just im high, but im not)
But im doing so much more work, im more social, calm, yet energetic, organized. My cravings for opiates are alot less, im very intersted in getting back to my research and daily activities.
Now, this time, i want to do things right. Taking Supplements such as L-Tyrosine, L-Theanine, Mucana Prurriens, all produce natural dopamine, which will help the adderall not "burn out" or loose its effect.
Also, taking an NMDA antagonist, to help lower amphetamine tolerance, which a recent study i read, possibly L-Theanine my do this.

A quick question: Taking L-Glutamine supplement, I use it for muscle recovery, Is a precursor to Glutamic acid. Now with this Effect Amphetamines? From what it looks like, due to the precursor to Glutamic acid, which actually effects opiate tolerance, may interact with amphetamines in a negative way.
I know all about the acidity of the stomach and Urine, which will decrease the amphetamine tolerance, but is tough to do, because i dont feel like drinking Baking soda, and Tums dont help. Possibly natural methods of reducing stomach acid, yet moresoe Urine alkaline will increase the effects of Amphetamine, or eliminate amphetamine "burnout" as i call it.

There are so many different ways to do this or that. Take this or that, it gets very confusing. But i know in about 1 week, my tolerance to 30mg of adderall will drastically increase. And amphetamines do release dopamine stored, i can possibly say that taking a Dopaminergic precusor, L-Tyrosine, or a Herbal like substance called Mucuna Prurriens,(15%l-dopa), studie show increases dopamine like the drug L-dopa, possibly better.(via supersmart.com)

Other alternatives, like nootropics may be an option, a few NDMA antagonists such as Memantine. Dopamine Agonists, a slew of them iv found on the psychobabble drug listing, But Mao's seem to be dangerous , and would not risk taking them with any stimulants.

One thing for sure is, after 2 months of daily use of amphetamines, a few days to a week is needed for amphetamine tolerance. The downside is that you dont feel like doing anything, to sum it up, your a zombie, dysphoric, sleeping, hermit!.lol. I guess a different mechanism type med like Desipramine, or even Ritalin, which even though is used for ADHD, and is similar to adderall, it does block the reuptake of Da/NA instead of release. But im not sure if this would help while taking off amphetamines.

Well any imput id appritiate, thank you for reading this.
