helloe there, chemist here....just a quick mention of something i read in this post and one you made above that ought to be addressed before you consider switching meds: celexa is a mixture of ``left handed'' and ``right handed'' citalopram: the active ingredients are these mirror images of one drug only, and prozac (fluoxetine) is not in the mix at all. lexapro is the ``left handed'' kind of citalopram only, and is reported to be more active than the ``right handed'' version of citalopram and to have fewer side effects associated with it. as i have not taken lexapro and have taken celexa albeit briefly years ago, i cannot comment. in any event, prozac is not involved in either formulation. all the best, chemist

> I am curious about this drug. I have taken celexa in the past and am now on prozac. Isnt this a combo of the 2?? Is it good for depression? I go to my pdoc soon and i know she is either going to up me to 40mg prozac and keep me at 100mg lamictal. Should i give that a try first? And if that doesnt work for me, ask for lexapro? I feel better now on prozac than with paxil (prev. drug) but i still am not where i want to be...
