You are exactly right about the other activities thing. Unfortunately providers aren't always able to organize these things due to insurance issues, staffing blah blah, but there's no law that I'm aware of that says you can't make a suggestion to the group to do just what you said. Get together to go for a movie even. A therapy group I was involved in long ago even kind of pushed that idea on us. Alot of people don't want to interact with those who know all about them in a different setting though--it makes life to livable ha-ha.
