> I am on Lexapro 10 mg and I have gained 6 pounds. I have never been on a diet, but now I am. The doc said the ssri's wt gain comes on after the 3rd month. The weight is so stuborn. It refuses to come off. I am drinking those low carb shakes and cereal. Nothing is working. When I exercise, it may take off a pound. It's so frustrating.

I too took prozac, but after a few months I started gaining weight even though I ate less and excercized...SSRIs weight gain appear later (2-3months),and has no connection to how much you eat or how much you diet, you will continue gaining weight.the ONLY way that I lost all the weight (and I'm normaly a skinny)was by stopping prozac, and, gradually and within 3-5months I returned to my normal weight.
Also, take care that you are taking Lithium and Lithium is well-known for its weight-gain effects.
