I think I was on a low dose, some sample my doc and I decided to try, but for me, yes- it took effect immediately (or so it seemed) and then I was awake for about 4 or 5 days. And I don't mean awake in a speedy or euphoric way- just AWAKE....more awake than I ever want to be again!
Not saying it's a bad med, just making it clear that I felt it right away (and it was not right for me, obviously.)
For what it's worth, that's my experience.
