effexor dose reduction

I'm dropping from 150 mg to 112.5mg. It's my 4 th day on the lower dose. Shouldn't I start to see an improvement in some of my "hyperactive talking" soon. Or, does dose reduction work something like dose increases (with Effexor), i.e., "you have to go thru hell before you feel better."
I'm unipolar and was up to 225 mg, but doing better at 150. Dr. said try lower dose but don't go below 75 mg.
All replies sought except the type that say that Eff. is a poison , etc...
