My depression is primarily dealing w/ an inability
to think, terrible short term memory to the point of "psuedo dementia" and anhedonia. I'm only 21 so
the psuedo dementia aspect is very strange. My doctor is not sure if it's something more similar to a thought disorder(Disorganized Psychosis) thats causing these cognitive problems. But if it were a thought disorder wouldn't I have other aspects of psychosis such as delusions, hallucinations, paranoia? I just don't know, it's very debilitating and torturous.
Anyway, I've tried buspar and actually at times I think it worked but I was so depressed it was hard to tell. I've been on so many meds that I don't even remember why I stopped the buspar. I have to ask the doctor, there must of been some sort of reason.I don't know if taking one of those anticonvulsants would help because most of my anxiety comes from not being able to think straight.I don't want to take something that could possibly worsen the confusion. I'm taking ritalin,lamictal-300 and paxil-10.Some ideas on what this could be and what might help would be really appretiated.
