I have been on Marplan for three weeks.
Week one 40mg
Week two 50mg
Week three 60 mgBy the end of the SSRI washout bed and tears were the order of the day. After four or five days on Marplan (low dose) I was seeing some light. At least able to get out of the house and do a bit of work. Week two was about the same. Initial benefits though marginal now seem to be diminishing.
I know three weeks is not sufficient time for a complete trial though I am concerned that the lose of the early effect may be an indicator that this is another dead end. Very discouraging.
I am also taking T3, T4, 20 to 30 mg of dexedrine
and .5 to 1mg of klonopin.Before going through all the TCA's, SSRI's, and evertything else including ECT, I had a successful course of Parnate which worked well for several years. This is the reason for trying another MAOI. Unfortunately I developed a tolerance to a dose of 180 mg. I revisited it couple of times without success.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Hopefuly this one will kick in though at the moment things are a bit dark.
Many thanks for comments on past experiences with this drug. It seemed like a possible winner at the out set.
