I still wake up with anxiety and thoughts running through my head and was wondering if this was from the fact that I get maybe 2-4 hours of rest whil on the lexapro. I used to take paxil and had the same problem until the dr perscribed trazodone. Dr. Now doesnt want me on the trazodone. He tried me on wellburtin but it made me feel more adgitated and anxious. anyone have this experience? anyone take trazodone and lexapro?

AFAIK, the enzyme interactions are minimal between lexapro and trazodone, and to me, it's a safe and logical thing to try, all the more so since it sounds like it worked for you in the past. The alternatives would be something like Ambien, which is more expensive and may not give you enough hours of sleep, or an atypical antipsychotic, which is even more expensive and has a ton of side effects.

Remeron & the sedating TCA's in low doses are good too & more logical than the AP's. All give solid, deep sleep via 5-HT2A blockade like Trazodone does.
