I too am very much concerned over Serzone discontinuation. However, in my guess, Generic form of Serzone, "Nefadozone" will stay in the market although a Brand Name, Serzone will no longer in the market starting June 14, 2004.
The reason why its manufacturer, BMS did this is, in my guess, ... most of Serzone takers already changed to Generic, 'Nefadozone' for price and quality reasons.
For instance, I've been already switched to Nefadozone at the beginning of this year when my pdoc. told me so. Actually, I'm quite happy about this, Generic form of Serzone, 'Nefadozone.'
In regard to 'similar med.' .... probably, 'Desryl/Trazodone' is the best. However, you don't need to worry about this, since there is still 'no' rumour to take 'Nefadozone' off the market.
