Your nurse is incorrect. I have been on 30 mg Lexapro for about 6 months. When I switched from 20 to 30, it made a big positive difference. My doctor had suggested going from 20 to 40, but I decided to try 30 first. If I ever need more in the future, I would not hesitate going to 40. I have read posts from others who do good on 40.
