I haven't used it, but it is notorious for weight gain and sedation; although, at higher dosages, it can become more activating. It generally lacks the sexual side effects and nausea that Effexor and the SSRIs can cause. Effexor also made me apathetic, this at dosages of 75-150 mg/day. I've had relatively poor luck with sedating antidepressants myself, but everyone is different.
