In reply to why do I feel so great after lighning storm?, posted by linkadge on April 18, 2004, at 8:40:22

There is a lot of pressure in the air before a storm. For some reason, it affects some of us by increasing our anxiety levels, blood pressure, even heart rate. It builds as the air pressure builds.

Once the storm hits, the air pressure begins to dissipate and our levels begin to return to normal (or at least what is normal for us). And that is SUCH a relief after having spent hours or DAYS with increasing pressure.

I don't know why this happens. I don't even know if scientists would call us a bunch of freaks and that it couldn't possibly happen. It really doesn't matter what they think, huh?

Gosh, and it's so hard to sit in a classroom when this is happening. I remember my body moving with each beat of my heart. You're almost ready to have a panic attack, and you just NEED that release so badly. But when the storm breaks, isn't it paradise? And with a sigh of relief, we plod on through our days.

Hugs,
Sandy
