I used to take it in divided doses, morning and evening. Now I usually take 45mg about a half hour before bedtime, because I can usually expect it to make me drowsy for a brief period. However, sleep in the second half of the night tends to become lighter using this dosing method. I have difficulty arousing from sleep in the morning, so the lighter sleep the second half of the night makes it easier for me to get up. I did experience euphoria the first couple months, but now believe some of what I initially interpreted as euphoria was actually mild serotonin overload. I can re-create the sensation by taking entire 60mg dose at once. I began taking it in 1988 and did discontinue it when I enlisted in the military four years later. Began basic training with minor withdrawls and absolutely no drive, but the physical activity and mental stimulation for eight solid weeks was tremendous rehab. I did experience several depressive episodes over the next three years while on active duty, but never resorted to medication. A week after ending military service, I reintroduced Nardil and kept an active physical exercise regimen of running and basic calesthenics.
